Letter From the Principal

Greetings!

My name is Andy Estevez, and I am the proud principal of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Academy, a dynamic school in the heart of Cypress Hills, Brooklyn, that is dedicated to providing students with an education that is rooted in strong academics as well as the principles of our faith.

Catholic schools provide our students with the foundation that they will need to be successful throughout their lives. This is done by emphasizing academic excellence, instilling a sense of morals and values, and developing character.

Our dedicated teachers are committed to each child within their care. In addition to providing rigorous instruction, they meet the individualized needs of each student. In doing so, students develop a passion for learning and resiliency to overcome obstacles they may encounter. In developing such attributes, students feel they are part of a family that strives to emulate the teachings of Jesus Christ, the master teacher. As a result of their broad academic knowledge and self-discipline, nearly all of our students graduate high school on time and attend some of the finest colleges in the country. Of course, because we believe it takes a village to raise a child, we strive to maintain open lines of communication with families, their children's first teachers.

In Catholic schools, religion is not simply a subject but a part of the school’s fabric. By teaching students to use their God-given conscience to discern right from wrong, they understand their decisions' impact on others. This, in turn, leads them to be committed to making the world a better place by engaging in service projects to improve their neighbor's lives. By engaging in such actions, our students learn that it is better to give than to receive and that other people can experience God's love and presence. They bring hope to a world desperate for love, kindness, and peace.

Our team-based approach helps provide our students with a well-rounded, values-based education. It is such an approach that allows our students to not only believe in themselves but also be able to do anything that they put their minds to - making the impossible…possible!

We welcome you to join us on the journey!

Blessings,

Andy Estevez
